CAD Support From Sketches, Existing Parts, or Full Design Briefs

Whether you have a rough hand sketch or a full project scope, I deliver practical CAD models and production-ready drawings for real workshop use.

No polished drawing required to start. A clear photo and key dimensions is often enough.

About Me

I'm a part-time freelance mechanical design engineer specialising in CAD modelling, fabrication drawings, and reverse engineering for manufacturing and engineering projects. I work with companies and individuals who need reliable design support to turn ideas, sketches, or existing components into accurate, production-ready CAD models.

I have experience creating SolidWorks and AutoCAD designs used in real manufacturing environments, producing clear technical drawings and models for fabrication, machining, and prototyping. My focus is always on delivering designs that are practical, manufacturable, and easy for workshops to form.

If you have a part, drawing, or idea you'd like help developing, feel free to get in touch to discuss your project.

Services

Sketch to CAD Drawing

Turn rough paper sketches, marked-up prints, or whiteboard notes into clean technical drawings.

Fabrication Drawings

Clear production-ready drawings with dimensions, tolerances, notes, and revision details.

Production Documentation

Workshop-friendly drawing packs and documentation prepared for fabrication and machining teams.

Reverse Engineering

Accurate CAD models built from existing parts, legacy drawings, or physical measurements.

Laser-Cut Profiles

Manufacturing-ready profiles and flat patterns delivered in agreed cutting and exchange formats.

Prototype Support

Design support for test builds, including 3D printing and practical feedback before production.

How It Works

Built for both quick sketch conversions and full CAD development projects.

1

Send What You Have

Sketches, photos, old drawings, or a full design brief. Include any key dimensions and constraints.

2

Review and Scope

I confirm scope, delivery format, and lead time so you know exactly what is being delivered.

3

Receive Final Files

Get accurate, workshop-ready outputs in agreed formats such as PDF, DXF, and STEP.

Projects

8-Bolt Flanged Housing

Client Problem:

Client requested a custom 8-bolt flanged housing to seal a rotating drive shaft using an o-ring.

Solution:

Using customers bolting and drive shaft parameters, o-ring and housing sizes created and designed suitable for a rotating drive shaft

Deliverables:

  • 3D printed prototype
  • Production-ready technical drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and notes
  • 3D CAD model step file

RV14 Throttle Cable Holder

Client Problem:

Client needed a custom throttle cable holder for an RV14 aircraft, designed to fit within tight space constraints and withstand vibration, bending forces, and temperature variations

Solution:

Designed a custom throttle cable holder suitable to fit both throttle cable sizes with full range of motion.

Deliverables:

  • 3D printed prototype
  • Production-ready technical drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and notes
  • 3D CAD model step file
  • Full CNC machined part from T2024 aeronautical grade Aluminium

ISO 5211 Mounting Bracket

Client Problem:

Client required a bracket design to suit F04 mounting bracket size to ISO 5211 with suitable clearance to provide adequate contact with their drive adapter

Solution:

Designed a custom ISO 5211 mounting bracket with appropriate height and width. Recommended material 304SS or 316SS

Deliverables:

  • 3D printed prototype
  • Production-ready technical drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and notes
  • 3D CAD model step file
